It’s a busy time of year for L’Acadian. Between 2012 planning and trade show travel, it feels like I’m living out of a suitcase. I’ve been in Daytona Beach, New Orleans and Vegas in the past few weeks, and its’ still not over yet.
For example, every year for the past 5 years that I’ve been working for/representing Costa Sunglasses, I’ve attended ICAST, the “World’s Largest Sportfishing Trade Show.” It’s interesting to see the reactions from others when I tell them that I get to attend this Grand Event in Vegas (with the exception of the year Orlando hosted it). Some are just jealous that I get to go to Vegas, and you can’t blame them, and then there are others that would give anything to mingle with some of the legends and
celebrities of the fishing world. Think Bill Dance, Jose Wejebe, the crew of “Shark Men” on National Geographic and more! Granted, you have to know and love the fishing world to appreciate it. But let me tell you, even if you don’t “get it,” I guarantee that you’d gain an appreciation for it after attending this show.
The professionals of the fishing industry, or at least the ones I get to meet and see every year, are loyal, sincere and enjoy life to the fullest. I can’t wait to see them again next year!
Check out this year’s pics from the “Ladies Night” party at the Costa booth! Costa won “Best Eyewear” in the ICAST New Product Showcase with the introduction of the new female styles: Islamorada, Little Harbor, Hammock and Tippet. Naturally, it only made sense to have a few “easy-on-the-eyes” fisherman to assist the female crowd with trying out the new frames.
